Newell Rubbermaid, Inc. has acquired Jarden Corporation for more than 15 billion in cash and stocks. The merger created a giant consumer goods company called Newell Brands. Newell Brands has started to make major changes at Pure Fishing. They have dismissed 30 members of its marketing operation based in Columbia, South Carolina. The firm providing public relations for multiple Pure Fishing brands has been told its services will no longer be needed. Several pro staffers have been told that their contracts will not be renewed.
